Jo and Dario Cugini
In fall 2008, Kristina Mattson became the first recipient of the Dario and Josephine Cugini Scholarship. However, Jo and Dario Cugini's positive impact on GRCC reaches back to the Foundation's early years when Jo was a volunteer with Green River's Interurban Center for the Arts and a member of the GRCC Foundation Board of Directors. As owners of Cugini Florist in South King County, Jo and Dario have always been involved in arts and education in a 'hands-on' manner. It's fitting that their first scholarship recipient planned to pursuit a career in interior design, and use her keen eye to spruce up other people's lives. Jo and Dario built their scholarship endowment over time and plan to assure its growth and impact through a gift by their estate.
